Our ultimate goal is to provide you with a beautiful smile and a healthy functional bite that will last a lifetime! We realize that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big commitment and we want to thank you for considering Cheng Orthodontics for your family's orthodontic needs. Our office is dedicated to providing the highest level of care. Although our staff takes their work seriously, they pride themselves in providing a fun and upbeat atmosphere for our patients. As a team, Dr. Cheng and his staff will work with you every step of the way to make your orthodontic experience a pleasant one.

Your consultation – First step to your great smile

This consultation will help you to get acquainted with our office and learn more about orthodontics. Since every person's smile is unique, we have set aside special time to get to know you and address your orthodontic concerns.

Dr. Cheng will perform a complete oral exam, sometimes with x-rays to assess your orthodontic needs and determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment.

If treatment is indicated, the next step is to obtain diagnostic records. Diagnostic records usually include impressions, radiographs, bite analysis, and photographs. Impressions are used to create duplicate models of your teeth and dental arches. Dr. Cheng will utilize the information gathered from the initial exam and the diagnostic records to determine the nature of the orthodontic problem and develop a customized treatment plan.

What happens after the initial consultation?

Our office will conduct a treatment consultation to discuss all aspects of your treatment in detail. A detailed summary of the diagnosis and treatment plan will be provided to you and your family dentist. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent.

REGULAR DENTAL CHECK UPS DURING ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

It is extremely important to visit your family dentist every 6 months, more often if indicated during your orthodontic treatment to prevent development of dental caries. We are more than happy to coordinate with your family dentist if any extra dental treatment is needed before, during or after your orthodontic treatment. We work as a team with your family dentist to ensure that you are receiving the best care possible.
