Phase II Treatment
Early Interceptive Treatment or Phase II Treatment
This is the term for full treatment once all permanent teeth have erupted. This 2nd phase of treatment will establish the harmony between your TMJ, teeth, lips, muscles, cheek and tongue. Braces are placed on all teeth followed by a retainer on completion of treatment.
The advantage of 2 phase treatment is to provide the most stable, harmonized result for a smile to last you a lifetime. By waiting until all permanent teeth have erupted and have one phase of treatment, especially if there is a skeletal discrepancy, your treatment may not be as stable and you may need to accept a more compromised result.
